I would totally say “no” to this if it weren’t for one thing, because El Hub is very low maintenance. Very. I’ve been trying to get the man to use moisturizer and/or sunscreen for about one billion years, and he still rebuffs my efforts. Be that as it may, there is one beauty-related tip I’ve learned from him, and it’s this: in a pinch, you can totally use shampoo as a body wash. Also, if you’re extra desperate, you can use shampoo as a face wash as well. I know this because when he and I first moved in together,...

I guess since Drybar caters to hair, and since lashes technically are hair, there’s a correlation between having a stylist blow out your unruly mane, and lengthening your lashes with mascara? Weird flex but OKURRRR! Drybar is known for their blow-drying hair services and not for makeup, so I was surprised when they teamed up with It Cosmetics to launch a new mascara. It Cosmetics Lash Blow Out ($25) is supposed to lift, lengthen and thicken your lashes (my life’s purpose), so I’ll bite… The ends of the bristles on the wand have tiny spheres designed to catch and comb...

I’m convinced that my Trader Joe’s on Redwood Blvd. in Novato is the best Trader Joe’s in all the land, and I say “my” like I own the place or something, LOL! I don’t own it (I wish), but I might as well be the mayor because I’m there practically daily. It’s worth a trip to TJ’s all by itself. But since you’ll...

Hooray for budget beauty! In this new series, we talk about sweet finds you can get for $10 or less. Maybelline is famous for their potted Tattoo Studio Gel liners, and I’m happy to say that their gel pencils are just as good — AND at $7.99 each, they’re crazy affordable. I used to wear gel pencils all the time because of the epic wear time (Bobbi Brown Jet was my jam back in the day), but I quit a few years ago when my skin became drier than all earthly deserts combined! Gel pencils just got to be too...

I’ve lost so many objects and items throughout the years, but I have a foolproof method for finding lost items that always works for me. It’s somewhat unconventional, though. I just kinda let whatever’s lost be lost for a while until it eventually shows up and makes itself known. 🙂 And I’ve been doing this for years because it stresses me out to look for lost things. I know that if I use this method (more like non-method), I’m eventually gonna find whatever’s missing… It may take five minutes. It may take five years, but eventually the lost item will...
